The a2 hosting has three different plans, and each of these plans has features. Like other hosting companies, it is very difficult to compare the price due to the different plans.
It has three main plans for sharing Linux hosting, which are:
- Lite- $7.9/ month for 2 years plans
- Swift-$9.9/month for two years plans
- Tudor plan $18.9/ month for two years plans
With their heavy discount, the price is moderate when compared with their competitors and at the same time, they are pricier than most other web hosting for the following reasons.
1. Their renewal price is only valid for 2 years plans, and If you want to pay annually, the renewal price is very high compared to others.
2. The LITE plan is only suitable for one website with no additional use and other bonus like backup, IP address etc
3. I’m not really sure why paying double the price for the TUBOR plan though they promise to 20x faster than any other plan and put you on the less crowded server which may increase the speed in comparison to the crowded server when it comes to a constant load.

a2 Hosting Vs Hostgator
Hostgator is one of the top-rated web hosting companies and hosts millions of websites around the world. Their customer support is excellent and amazing and their plans are reliable and offer a free SSL certificate.

Apart from not offering a free SSL certificate, I would recommend signing up for Hostgator.
Hostgator beat a2 hosting on pricing and offers good web hosting with unmetered features for very affordable prices. But regarding website loading, a2 is performing better than Hostgator.
A2 Hosting Vs Bluehost
When it comes to hosting, most people believe that Bluehost is the best, but from the customer service perspective, they are not even better than Hostgator and a2 Hosting. They have poor customer support, which is the only bad experience I had with them before I moved my website to Hostgator.
If you do not care about their support, you can host your website on the Bluehost server.
But in my own view, I may suggest paying a bit extra for a2 web-hosting if performance matter to you. Bluehost beat a2 hosting on pricing but a2 does much better in performance compared to Bluehost.
